    The top floor of Sumanadasa Building, the home of the Quantity Surveying Family, where the infant Quantity Surveyors brought up to become energetic young Quantity Surveyors.








    Moratuwa was a place for differences, conflicting interests, clashes, wisdom, fun, peace and harmony; which together built up our capabilities to respond to any situation.

Panel Discussion with Level IV

qsaa-panel-l4Panel Discussion on Post Contract Management and Claims Management for level IV Quantity Surveying undergraduates was successfully conducted on 17th December 2016 (Saturday) from 8.30 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. Ch. QS Lalith Ratnayake, Ch. QS Chandana Jayalath, Ch. QS Jayantha Jayakody, Mr. R.A.P. Rohana and Ch. QS Vijitha Disaratne contributed to the event as the resource persons. It was a great opportunity to the undergraduates to clarify the issues


Annual Cricket Match 2017

qsaa-cricketcup-2017FebThe QSAA annual cricket match was successfully held on Sunday the 26th February 2017 at Soysapura play Ground, Moratuwa from 9:00 am onwards with the participation of Alumni members, their families and the QS Undergraduates of University of Moratuwa. The matches were conducted as both men and women matches. All the members were very much enthusiastic in participating the event and they enjoyed a lot while building mutual relationship amongst the members and families as usual. Traditional foods and the drinks arranged by the undergraduates made the event more enjoyable. 


Celebrating the Silver Jubilee of Passing Out of First Batch of Graduates in Quantity Surveying from University of Moratuwa

1stbatch01In order to produce well qualified graduates in Quantity Surveying to meet the increasing demand of the construction industry, Department of Building Economics of University of Moratuwa was established in 1983 with Prof. H.P.S.Caldera assuming duties as the First Chair Professor of Building Economics. Bachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying programme was commenced in 1985 and the inauguration of the first batch of 18 students was held on 07th January 1986.

QSAA guest lectures 2016

The first QSAA guest lecture for the year was held on 08 th June 2016 at Department of Building Economics, University of Moratuwa. The lecture was conducted by Ch.QS. Subhasini Dasanayake on the topic of “Practical application of cost planning”. The session was very much effective for the both Quantity Surveying and Facilities Management final year undergraduates to enhance their knowledge regarding practical aspects. QSAA would like to convey the gratitude to Ch.QS. Subhasini Dasanayake for her valuable commitment.

The second guest lecture organized by QSAA was held on 25 th June 2016 at Department of Building Economics, University of Moratuwa.
